This is a connecting piece with which you connect the ends of the toothed belt back together.
After replacing the belt coupling according to the manual, you must first install the drive pulley bracket and then place the timing belt back into the timing belt coupling. Our experience is that this can be quite difficult. Therefore, our recommendation: After placing the timing belt in the drive pulley holder (Figure 3.1), first install the timing belt in the coupling (Figure 3.5 and 3.6). The drive pulley holder slides slightly into the rail due to the belt tension. Now place a piece of wood at the end of the rail, tighten the drive pulley holder against it with a screw clamp until the screw holes are aligned again and then screw the holder back in place (Figure 3.3). Continue to Figure 4.
Hörmann products are generally distinguished by a long service life and high-quality workmanship. The timing belt coupling is also designed for uncomplicated use and saves time when replacing it. The spare part is suitable, for example, for Hörmann's self-supporting steel rails. The timing belt in these rails consists of a mixture of polyester and polyamide, while the Hörmann guide carriage for guide rails FS 10 and FS 2 itself consists of robust plastic. The special thing about this timing belt: according to the Hörmann patent, it tensions itself and is therefore maintenance-free. The guide rails are usually pre-assembled and can be used directly on the desired drive. The rails themselves are offered in one piece or two pieces. Before installation, the two-piece rails must be screwed together and the timing belt must be tensioned.
