Adjust Hörmann guide rail:

One of the most important components of a garage door opener is the guide rail. This allows the drive motor to open the garage door and close it again if necessary. However, when structural conditions require adjustment of the rail, this shortening set is the solution.

After disassembling the drive head and disassembling the guide rail, the maximum preload of the installed spring is secured by installing the camber connection.

Note: The matching Hörmann lintel bracket for attaching guide rails must be purchased separately.

Pro tip:

Our experience is that placing the timing belt in the timing belt coupling can be quite difficult. Therefore our recommendation: After installing the clamping device, it is screwed down. Now loosen the drive pulley holder at the other end of the guide rail and install the timing belt into the clutch. The drive pulley holder slides slightly into the rail due to the belt tension. Now place a piece of wood at the end of the rail, clamp the drive pulley holder against it with a screw clamp until the screw holes are aligned again and then screw the holder back in place. Alternatively, you can use the Hörmann manual for replacing a timing belt or guide carriage for a better understanding.

Hörmann running rails are divided into K, M and L rails based on their length. The corresponding guide rails are either included in the complete set of a garage door or can be ordered separately in our store. These are self-supporting steel rails that are equipped with a long-term stable polyester/polyamide timing belt. The guide carriage is made of plastic and the one-piece rails are already completely pre-assembled. Due to the automatic belt tension, the Hörmann guide rail is virtually maintenance-free.
